Hello RS I'm scouting for a guild. Checking a few out.
Found the game after feeling nostalgic for TCGs when the new MTG app on apple was recommended by my friend, but not available on android. Disappointed, I decided to browse the current list of TCGs online. Saw Shadowera had generally good reviews & the most downloads, so I tested it out. Lovely art was a bonus.
_TCG History _An old fan of TCGs. Used to be with pokemon (childhood), then Yugioh (found it a bit childish at highschool & quit), & then MTG (loved it, but expensive to maintain while schooling, retired after high school). I've tested Hearthstone & MTG:Planeswalkers before sticking to Shadowera. Hearthstone was too cartoony & excessive with the special effects. Card acquisition was too slow (without cash) & it was too simple after MtG. MtG:Planeswalkers was too buggy & not entirely adapted to mobile, crashing often & an overkill on in-game-purchases with story progression needing to be paid for to unlock. A few other TCGs I tried were not so good either.
Hello again to RS members. I understand there has been some contention on my survey of this guild forum.
I would like to lay out the events and my reasoning in full to avoid misunderstanding.
First off, I am currently not a member of any guild. I am seeking to be a casual player, with occasional tournaments, community contribution, and interesting decks for fun.
I have been looking to have probational access to guild forums, & chat to observe the environment before I make my decision on a guild. As you observe my activity, so too would I observe your responsiveness. Because I do prefer Forums over IMs, it allows for more structured thought and referral without getting lost in chatter.
To my knowledge, the only guilds to have public/probationary forums are RS, BP, and A1. With AP having moved to a completely private forum.
Both my Introductory and Deck-Help posts were identical in for RS & BP in the public section of both guild forums, because I want to gauge the response to the same posts. For A1, I posted earlier because I didn't have as much of a pain in the arse with authentication problems from proboards.com.
Both forums were posted within minutes of each other not in order of significance, but because one tab on my Chrome browser was closer. You may check the posting time if you feel such a detail is significant.
Coming from a science background, I prefer to collect data before decisions. Thus my methods.
At the end of the probation, I will declare my allegiance to one guild only. And cease outside activity. Its rather tiresome to check up on several tabs at once. I have work to do in RL as well.
PiercingSerenity: Not sure how often the activity checks are to determine if this is relevant to me, but I have been inactive for a long time. Just started becoming a bit more active in the last couple of days
